From the Garden State Parkway, take Exit 58 (Tuckerton/Little Egg Harbor). At the end of the exit ramp, turn onto Rt. 539 South toward Tuckerton/Little Egg Harbor. Proceed south on Rt. 539 for approximately 3.5 miles. At third traffic light, turn right onto Rt. 9 South. Almost immediately, there will be a lake on your right and a sign for Great Bay Blvd. At the traffic light, use the left turn lane to turn left onto Great Bay Blvd.

There are three Rutgers facilities on Great Bay Blvd. Below are directions to each.

Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve, 130 Great Bay Blvd.: After turning onto Great Bay Blvd., it is approx. 0.5 miles on the right. Look for a big silver mailbox with “130.” After pulling into the driveway, a sign with a likeness of Jacques Cousteau will be straight ahead.

RUMFS Dormitory, 132 Great Bay Blvd.: It is approx. 0.6 miles down Great Bay Blvd., on the right (immediately after the Cousteau Ed Center). Look for a big black mailbox marked “132” on a steamer chain post.

Field Station, 800 Great Bay Blvd.: Proceed down Great Bay Blvd. for approximately 7 miles without turning. (Initially there will be houses, but after a mile or so, there will only be salt marsh and the occasional marina. You ARE on the right road.) You’ll go over a series of bridges, including two single-lane wooden bridges regulated by traffic lights. The road dead-ends at a wooden causeway. Please park at the end of the causeway and walk up. We are in the former Coast Guard Station.
